Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is an Romanian TV presenter and actress. Her most well-known work is the main character in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control, and Rush. As the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra started her career in showbiz early. She was a lead actress in TV dramas as young as the age of 16. She was praised for her role as a character in Der Tunnel. This paved the way for other unforgettable performances, like Adolf Hitler's Secretariat Traudl Junge. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are the other Oscar nominated features featuring the divas. Alexandra is engaged in numerous notable projects, both nationally as well as internationally. A few of them include the British biographical movie Control, the Greek drama movie The Dust of Time, and the French historical miniseries Napoleon. The actress also served on the jury at the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
