John Denver is a popular musician and singer who has been able to touch many through his music. Many of these were inspired by Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. grew up in Roswell New Mexico. However, he discovered love for Colorado. He later settled in Aspen. Many people beat a path to Colorado due to Denver's famous songs for his home state. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the director of this hall of fame, said: "I don't believe there anyone else who has as much a connection to Colorado in the same way as John Denver." Denver was a member of the Hall of Fame as its first member in 2011. Many consider Denver to be the Colorado image. When I travel, I always come across someone on the opposite side of the world or someone from New Zealand and you say 'I'm of Colorado and the first thing out of their mouth is Oh John Denver! Brown clarified. Denver's first Top 10 hit as a solo artist after a brief period of performing with small folk-based bands included Take Me Home Country Roads written by Bill Danoff. Danoff had written the song with the inspiration of Johnny Cash, but Denver could hear an early version and knew it would become an instant hit in the top 10. After performing the song in Washington D.C. to a huge crowd, the singer made a recording a few days from now.
